Kia ora koutou,
Firstly, I hope you are all looking after yourselves, and your families. On behalf of the team at CRFU, we are thinking of you all during what is a very challenging time.
As you’ll be aware, last week Canterbury Rugby reached the decision to suspend all rugby (including both contact and non-contact trainings) until April. Of course, with the recent Government announcement that the country has now moved to Alert Level 4, this means all rugby is now on hold for the foreseeable future.
We will continue to provide our Canterbury rugby community with updates as they become available, so please refer to our Canterbury Community Rugby Facebook page for these. Meanwhile, on our Canterbury Rugby channels, we will be sharing various content with you to keep you entertained, engaged and energised. There will be highlights from past games, meal recipes, skills and drills, community challenges and more, so we look forward to connecting with you remotely over this period and supporting you over the coming weeks.
Don’t forget, the CRFU community rugby team is here to help. If you have questions or need any assistance at all, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
In the meantime, I urge all of our stakeholders to continue to follow Government and Ministry of Health Guidelines, and do your bit to keep our communities safe. Ngā mihi,
Tony Smail Chief Executive OfficerCanterbury Rugby Football Union
